Arriving on Samui
- By Plane
Koh Samui airport located to the North East of the island next to Big Buddha and is serviced by two airlines Bangkok Airways and Thai Airways. There are regular departures to and from Bangkok as well as other Thai regional and International destinations.
- By Bus
The most cost effective way to travel from Bangkok to Samui. Nearly all of them travel by night picking up from 17.30 - 20.00 with a journey time of 10-12 hours (including ferry transfer).
- By Boat
All boats depart the mainland from Surat Thani. Remember if you are travelling by bus from Bangkok, the boat transfer to the island will generally be included in the price and will dock in Nathon.If you plan to bring your own vehicle, the car ferry leaves Surat Thani and docks in Lipa Noi.
- By Train
Tickets for a night-train can be booked at Bangkok Airport, Bangkok Railway Station and many travel agencies.The train departs Bangkok and arrives at Surat Thani Railway Station. A bus connects the station to the ferry terminal. Travel time from Surat Thani railway station to Koh Samui is app. 2.5 hours. Purchasing a combined ticket ensures a seamless transfer from Bangkok to the island
